Job description

Position Summary

Echo NDE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwood Service Corporation and provides full service non-destructive testing, inspection, and integrity services throughout North America.  Our wide array of services is tailored towards maintenance, integrity, construction for both facility and pipeline sectors to a range of industries. Echo NDE is currently seeking an API 653 Inspector to join and contribute to our team. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Operations Manager and will be based out of Calgary, AB, with travel to and from multiple worksites throughout Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspections and non-destructive examinations of aboveground storage tanks and pressure-retaining equipment in accordance with API 653 and applicable industry standards
  • Assess equipment condition and integrity to ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and company requirements
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations
  • Provide technical recommendations regarding repair, alteration, re-rating, replacement, and fitness-for-service evaluations
  • Assist clients in the application and interpretation of inspection techniques, codes, standards, and procedures
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and NDT personnel to support inspection programs and asset integrity initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements while actively participating in safety programs and hazard assessments
  • Support tank inspection planning, turnaround activities, and integrity management programs
  • Maintain applicable certifications and stay current with industry codes, standards, and best practices
Requirements
  • API 653 certification required
  • Preference will be given to candidates with NDT certifications 
  • Strong technical report writing and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of NDE methods, welding practices, and applicable industry codes and standards
  • Ability to evaluate equipment condition and provide repair and fitness-for-service recommendations
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to build and maintain positive client and stakeholder relationships
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to across Western Canada
