Job description

Responsibilities
  • The Process Control Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA software for control systems and equipment
  • Maintain the manufacturing plant's controls systems.
  • Install software updates with the latest versions.
  • Participate on project teams and serve at site SME in the development of control/instrumentation systems and specifications. Support factory acceptance testing of new equipment systems.
  • Lead the development and execution of small projects that are electrical/controls in nature. Upgrading of obsolete controls to modern technology.
  • Work with corporate engineering to support the maintenance and improvement of site electrical infrastructure, equipment, and standards as needed.
  • Perform system start-ups and operational checkouts on systems including configuration, wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
  • Reload and reboot PLC to restore faulted equipment after power outages.
  • Regional candidates preferred. $110K-$120K
Requirements
  • The Process Control Engineer will have a BSEE, or related engineering degree and 5+ years of related experience in a chemical plant, refinery or similar process manufacturing plant.
  • Familiarity with communication networks like Ethernet/IP and Modbus.
  • Understanding of process instrumentation (sensors, actuators, etc.).
  • Understanding of low-voltage distribution, safety relays, and emergency stop circuits.
  • Knowledge of databases and historians for logging machine data
  • Understanding of feedback loops & PID controllers.
