Position Title:
Journeyman I - Pipefitter
Pay Rate:

The Job You Will Perform:
This is a journeyman-level pipefitter responsible to complete scheduled and routine maintenance work along with performing many other duties both as part of a team and independently. Duties for pipefitter include, but are not restricted to preventative/predictive maintenance . This position includes a progressive comprehensive training program to develop into a multi-craft mechanic.
Responsibilities:
  • Obtain daily work orders
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Perform field measurements and installations as needed
  • Move pumps, pipes, and valves using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install pumps, pipes, and valves according to lay-out plan, blue prints and other drawings
  • Utilize hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools
  • Operate overhead cranes, tow motors and fork lifts
  • Have computer skills
  • Fabricate structural materials and pipes as needed
  • Assist mechanical craft as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned that you are qualified to do safely

Required Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Technical training or certification as a Pipefitter; or at least 3 years of work experience as a Pipefitter
  • Willing and capable of working all shifts

Plus - must be willing to meet the following requirements:
  • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule
  • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification
  • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis
  • Respond to emergencies during off hours and weekends
  • Wear required safety equipment/PPE
  • Continue to develop skills to become a multi-skill mechanic (including millwright, welding, and machinist)
  • Operate or work in industrial conditions (i.e. warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, and heavy machinery or elevated working surfaces with proper safety training and safety protection)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a maintenance discipline.
  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong math/physics understanding.
  • Prior experience as a multi-skill mechanic.
