Job description

Cape Fear Games in Wilmington, NC is looking to hire both a full-time (40 hrs/week) and part-time (24-32 hrs/week) Retail Sales Associate to join our team! We are looking to hire for a year-round position, therefore we are unable to consider applicants who are only available during the Summer.


Requirements

  • Familiarity with (or  base knowledge  and a willingness to learn about) various modern tabletop games, RPGs, wargames, and disc golf. 
  • A friendly & outgoing personality.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Willingness to work on weekends & have evening availability until 10-11:00 PM.


Cape Fear Games has  been in business for over 15 years and is located on 4107 Oleander Dr, Suite D. Our ideal candidate must have a positive & welcoming attitude, provide excellent customer service, demonstrate a passion for all sorts of games, and have a willingness to share that passion with our community. 


Retail Assistant Responsibilities

  • Greet everyone entering the store, presenting an outgoing and friendly personality.
  • Engage customers in a comfortable manner, and encourage the social atmosphere of our weekly events.
  • Provide expert insight  and identify a customer's core needs, whether they are looking for puzzles, kid’s games, collectible card games, role-playing games, disc golf, or deep strategy games.
  • Have a willingness to expand their knowledge about the various tabletop games we sell & disc golf.
  • Handle point-of-sale software, cash transactions, and have a great attention to detail.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during busy times like popular event sign-ups, or the holiday shopping season. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service, field phone calls, and make sure all customers receive attention.
  • Assist with restocking, basic inventory management, and maintaining the visual esthetic of the store.


A Retail Sales Associate that excels at their position is friendly, outgoing, and knowledgeable about a wide range of games. Hospitality and face-to-face interaction are required for the position, as well as the ability to provide quick demonstrations of games to customers. The goal of this position is to connect people with games they will enjoy, and to provide both a professional and fun experience to all shoppers.
