Summary: We are Friedman's. We sell the products that help build homes, and those homes house families who build memories in our communities. The Outside Contractor Sales Representative is a highly motivated, focused, and creative individual with proven sales experience who thrives in a sales-based role. This independent and self-motivated individual thrives on helping the customer grow their business, through a project management model. Every value add for the customer is what makes this position thrive and succeed. Helping the customer grow and develop their business is the key component to this position. Managing the customer's building schedule to anticipate and supply the customer needs is what this forward-thinking individual will focus on to drive and grow sales.

This position is based out of Sonoma County and is responsible for selling in surrounding counties and markets.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales goals in a construction-based industry within Sonoma, Marin, Napa, and all surrounding counties.
  • Partner with assigned customers to help them grow their business and land complete more jobs within their communities.
  • Establish a true business partnership with the customer, focusing on their targeted yearly goals and objectives, determining how we can help them meet those goals.
  • Provide top tier customer service by regularly meeting with assigned customers to determine and assess future opportunities and challenges they may experience, partnering to provide solutions.
  • Assist customers with the selection of products and recommend products best suited to their individual projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Work and partner with multiple internal teams and levels within the organization to execute commitments made to customers daily.
  • Keep current and share industry insight on competitor prices, products, and other market related information.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED, training or education in construction management basic skills preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Contractor Sales or equivalent Outside Sales experience preferred.
  • Home Improvement product knowledge is preferable, not required.
  • A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required qualifications and skills is acceptable.

Work Environment:

  • Most of the work performed in this role will be done from outside a Friedman's location customer jobsites, customer offices in the Sonoma, Marin, Napa all surrounding counties with office work and hours on an as needed basis.
