Job description
NetImpact Strategies is seeking a Visual Communications & Change Adoption Strategist with master-level expertise in translating complex discussions, change objectives, and communication strategy into clear, actionable, multi-channel outputs. The ideal candidate is a seasoned strategist who understands the purpose behind each communication touchpoint - what it must achieve, who it needs to influence, and how narrative structure, messaging clarity, and visual framing shape stakeholder understanding, readiness, and adoption. This person operates effectively in real time: attending working sessions, rapidly synthesizing what they hear, and converting it into communication concepts, stakeholder engagement needs, training implications, and structured narratives that support adoption across diverse audiences. Their background reflects years of judgment-building in high-change environments, with the ability to translate messy, technical, or fast-moving information into communication pathways that move people toward clarity, trust, and buy-in.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate OCM strategy, messaging frameworks, and communication plans into finished creative products across print, digital, social, and video formats
- Design and produce training materials (job aids, slide decks, quick reference guides, e-learning visual assets, video walkthroughs) that support adoption across the NAS
- Develop internal social media content (Teams, SharePoint, internal newsletters) and external social media content (public-facing platforms, coalition channels) with messaging and tone calibrated to each audience
- Partner with OCM leads and communication strategists to understand the intent behind each deliverable before producing it, and raise design or messaging concerns when something risks undermining that intent
- Partner with external organizations (e.g., Modern Skies Coalition) to develop shared or co-branded creative assets that maintain alignment with FAA/BNATCS standards and external objectives
- Develop and maintain visual standards and templates that keep BNATCS materials consistent and recognizable across the program, for both internal and external use
- Edit and produce short-form video content (leadership messages, training walkthroughs, town hall recaps, coalition or public-facing features) from raw footage or scripted concepts
- Adapt content for different audiences and channels, external coalition and industry audiences, and public-facing formats
- Bring creative, out-of-the-box concepts to communication and training challenges, pushing beyond standard federal templates when a fresher approach will drive better adoption or engagement
- Maintain a working knowledge of accessibility and Section 508 compliance standards for federal materials
- Manage multiple concurrent design requests against program deadlines, often with quick turnaround windows tied to workshop cycles or leadership communications
- Present design concepts and rationale to program stakeholders, including non-design audiences, in a way that connects creative choices back to adoption goals
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 8-11 years of demonstrated strategic communications and multimedia design experience translating complex ideas into clear, executive-ready print, digital, training, and video products in fast-paced environments;
- Master's degree in Strategic Communications, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or similar degree; Bachelor's degree with 10-13 years may be substituted in lieu of Master's degree;
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust and pass FAA suitability, which includes a rigorous financial background check. (US Citizen);
- Strong understanding of visual hierarchy, messaging clarity, and how design decisions affect audience comprehension and behavior;
- Demonstrated ability to translate a complex strategic or communication idea across multiple formats (verbal summary, visual narrative, written messaging, training guidance, PowerPoint, short-form video) while maintaining consistency of intent;
- Experience working in accelerated environments with shifting priorities; able to independently anticipate next steps and adjust quickly without losing strategic intent;
- Ability to attend working sessions and immediately translate discussion points into communication concepts, stakeholder engagement needs, training requirements, and visual approaches;
- Excellent collaboration and presentation skills, including the ability to explain design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike; and
- Executive-ready communication presence, including ability to navigate questions, negotiate creative direction, and clearly articulate rationale to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in industry-standard design and video tools (Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint; Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent);
- Strong portfolio showing range across print, digital/social, PowerPoint, and video work, with evidence of strategic thinking behind the design choices, not just technical execution;
- Prior experience supporting a federal program, ideally within FAA, DoT, or another large federal modernization effort;
- Familiarity with organizational change management principles (Prosci/Kotter or similar) and how design supports adoption curves;
- Experience developing training materials or e-learning content;
- Experience working within a prime/sub-contractor structure;
- Experience developing content for external coalitions, industry partnerships, or public-facing communication campaigns; and
- Experience managing brand consistency across internal and external channels simultaneously
