Job description

Get Fresh Produce has been operating since 1982, delivering fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users located in the Midwest region. The position of Sanitation Associate requires the individual to maintain cleanliness in the warehouse and office areas. As a Sanitation Associate, you will be responsible for performing sanitation duties in Bartlett, IL, on the 1st shift.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform sanitation duties with utilization of equipment, such as Bailer Machine, Sky Jack, Forklift, Walkie Ryder, and electric pallet jacks. Previous experience is a plus
  • Perform sanitation duties for the warehouse and office spaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming
  • Perform work in accordance with established SSOP’s (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
  • Keeping record documents up to date – Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Using Provision Analytics Software
  • Ensure all designated areas are wiped or brushed down to remove all visible soil
  • Notify Management promptly of any building or equipment repairs that are needed
  • Check for signs of pest activity and notify management of any pest issues identified
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining the chemical supply inventory
  • Collect and remove refuse from all designated areas
  • Giving Management feedback on the janitor team’s performance, conducting daily meetings, coaching/training the team
  • Maintain regular and satisfactory full-time attendance
  • Perform work outside of normal business hours as required
  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Facility Manager – Get Fresh Produce, LLC
  • Must work on the holidays due to operations
  • Managed Provisions, including (master sanitation online records), hard copies, and other documents
  • Experience but not necessarily on Counterbalance, Ryder, Forklift, Scissor lift
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience with working in different temperature settings (Freezer, Refrigerated, Ambient)
  • Experience in Distribution/Commercial roles, preferably in food settings
  • Familiar with Food Safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently carry, push/pull, and lift up objects up to 75lbs
  • Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for long periods of time
  • Repetitive motions may be required, including scrubbing, climbing, or reaching above the shoulders
  • Work in cold and wet cooler conditions for extended periods of time

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 4:00am – 1:30pm or until the work is completed
  • Holidays and some Sundays are required depending on business needs
  • Bartlett, IL location, this is an in-person position
