About the Market

We are a small, family-owned market attached to a farm-to-table restaurant. Our market functions as both a neighborhood grocery and the daily pantry for our restaurant kitchen. We work with fresh produce, raw meats, a small deli selection, and ready-to-eat items — and everything we carry has a purpose.

This is not a cashier-only job. Most shifts are worked independently, and we are looking for someone who can think, assess, and act without being micromanaged.


The Role

We’re hiring a Market & Produce Associate — someone who understands that produce is alive, perishable, and constantly changing.

You will be trusted to:

  • Assess the condition and shelf life of produce throughout the day
  • Decide when items should be:
    • Sold at peak quality
    • Moved quickly to the restaurant kitchen for specials or soups
    • Preserved (dehydrated, repurposed, or processed)
    • Re-displayed creatively when stock is low
  • Communicate proactively with the kitchen about surplus, aging product, or opportunity items
  • Run the register as part of the job — not the whole job
  • Assist in ordering

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Has experience with produce, food service, culinary work, or specialty grocery
  • Thinks in terms of problem-solving, not checklists
  • Is comfortable working alone and making real-time decisions
