We are looking for a Food Safety Manager for our Juneau facility. This position will report to our Product and Quality Safety Manager and will drive and improve the Food Safety, Sanitation, Supplier Approval, and Customer Complaint programs at Sensient BioNutrients. You will work closely with all functions of the organization to engage employees in these programs.
What you will do:
  • Ensure daily plant Food Safety/Quality operations follow company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and local, state, federal regulations.
  • Lead the SQF, HACCP, and FSMA programs, serve as company liaison for all State, Federal, Customer, and Kosher certifications and inspections.
  • Investigate all customer complaints, manage investigations, and ensure timely review and responses to complaints.
  • Manage our Sanitation Supervisor/team, as well as serve as an organizational resource for knowledge around HACCP, FMSA, Food Defense, and GFSI auditing schemas.
  • Prioritize and drive process improvement initiatives throughout the organization to achieve organizational KPI's and ensure customer satisfaction.

What you will bring:
  • Preferably 7+ years' experience in Quality Assurance/ Food Safety/ Regulatory environment within the Food and/or Fresh Food industry, accompanied with 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience leading a successful quality assurance program.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence with multiple levels of leadership.
  • Bachelors degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or other related technical degree preferred.
  • Experience leading internal and external audits.
  • Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification experience preferred.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is required.
