Job description

Caruso is a family owned, 4th generation company that delivers fresh ready-to-eat, and pre-cut produce, sandwiches, salads, and fresh meal kits to retail distribution centers and direct-to-retail stores all over the USA.
We are looking for experienced Box Truck Drivers for local routes. The Delivery Driver is responsible for making deliveries to area customers starting in between 3 pm and 5 pm.
Must be able to rotate weekends.
Must have 12 months of verifiable 18ft-26ft Box Truck Driving experience in the last 3 years.
Job Summary
The Route Driver represents Caruso Logistics to customers and is expected to maintain a professional, courteous, and positive image always. This role is responsible for safely operating a company vehicle, completing timely pickups and deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. The Route Driver must also follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable DOT regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Safe Vehicle Operation
  • Operate a company-provided commercial motor vehicle safely and responsibly.
  • Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
  • Complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) as required.
  • Follow all DOT regulations, safety standards, and company safety procedures.

Customer Delivery & Service
  • Deliver products to customers safely, courteously, and on time.
  • Load, unload, and deliver products according to customer specifications.
  • Obtain required customer signoffs and maintain accurate delivery documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service.

Records & Compliance
  • Review and verify invoices and purchase requests for accuracy.
  • Maintain required delivery logs, records, and documentation.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and follow safety protocols during all deliveries.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to work third shift.
  • Must have verifiable box truck driving experience.

Driving Record Standards
  • Must maintain a good driving record with none of the following: reckless driving, DUI/OMVI, hit and run, or excessive speed as defined by DOT (15+ mph over the posted limit).
  • Must have no preventable accidents.
  • Must have no more than two moving violations within the last 24 months.

Physical, Attendance & Compliance Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work and drive in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must maintain excellent and prompt attendance for each scheduled shift.
