POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance Electrician - Automation Technician for the Springfield, MO manufacturing plant supports the Plant's electrical distribution and control systems.

Facilitate control wiring diagrams and equipment troubleshooting

Designs and implements major changes to HMIs and PLC ladder logic.

Sources, installs, and calibrates instrumentation to support plant operations.

Designs and implements computer programs to facilitate the flow of business information throughout the plant.

Coordinates and oversees outside contractors to support capital projects as necessary.

Responsible for all general mechanical duties in support of plant operations and capital projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshoots plant PLC equipment; resolves problems through ladder logic changes; troubleshoots plant HMIs (Wonderware, RSView) and resolves problems through programming changes.
  • Troubleshoots electrical control and power wiring; resolves problems through wiring changes.
  • Oversees capital projects and outside contractors primarily in the electrical control and power wiring areas.
  • Develops and implements new electrical controls and systems.
  • Works with other plant employees and management to enhance Springfield's electrical / electronic systems.
  • Works with AutoCAD and other computer programs to update documentation and electrical prints.
  • Uses various personnel and LAN computer programs in the completion of assignments.
  • Capable of performing general mechanical duties.
  • Conducts training for maintenance personnel and equipment operators.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency is required, additional recent technical training preferred.
  • Must have at least three (3) years manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Experience with industrial electrical controls
  • Knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Must be very detail oriented and have strong interpersonal, communication and team based skills.
  • Being a self-starter as well as a problem-solver are required assets.
  • Be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift - hours can vary.
