Job Summary:

As a Box Sorter, you will be responsible for manually processing and sorting boxes to meet PLA's quality standards and production goals. This role involves breaking down, inspecting, stickering, and palletizing boxes. • Guaranteed Progression: 50-cent per hour increases at 90 days, 1 year, and annually thereafter for a total of 5 years, reaching the maximum rate at 5 years in this role.

Work Schedule:

• Evening Shift: 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm (Monday thru Friday)

As a Box Sorter, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Breaking down boxes that are not received in a broken-down state.
• Inspecting boxes for damage and assessing their suitability for reuse.
• Slickening boxes acceptable for reuse by covering their barcodes.
• Palletizing sorted boxes efficiently by size.
• Meeting or exceeding daily production requirements, with a standard expectation of at least one pallet per hour.
• Maintaining a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift.
• Complying with all PLA policies and procedures, as well as federal and state safety rules.
• Assisting with other duties as assigned to support and improve overall team operations.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Capable of repeatedly handling, lifting, and moving boxes of varying sizes and weights.
• Requires good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for breaking down, inspecting, and stickering boxes.
• Ability to hear and understand verbal instructions and safety alarms in a warehouse environment.
• Good vision for inspecting boxes and performing sorting tasks accurately.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
