We deliver effective and efficient customized freight solutions to a multitude of industries.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Freight Auditor will be responsible for investigating freight shipments that are potentially misclassified and then determining the necessary actions to adjust billing. The goal is to identify billing discrepancies, verify discrepancies, and resolve the issues for both the client and the company. Tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
• Validates proper documentation is provided by carriers when presenting invoices for payment
• Examines, verifies, and adjusts freight bills for accuracy based on customer/carrier pricing agreements
• Interprets carrier tariffs and service guides, applying rules to invoices
• Answers customer questions; interacts professionally via email and phone contact
• Recommends potential pricing improvements or savings opportunities to management by analyzing customer contracts
• Works independently and prioritizes tasks efficiently
• Contributes to the team effort
• All other duties assigned by management
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of high school diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of both customer and carrier's organizations
• Problem solving and strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Highly motivated with an ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
• Must have excellent phone and email communication skills and ability to multitask and assist clients after hours.
• Solid understanding of MS Office, Windows, and basic business software
