Job description

Freight Coordinator needed in the Dallas (I-35 & Royal area)

Monday - Friday

8:30am to 5:00pm

$23-$26hr (DOE)

The Freight Coordinator manages the movement of freight by coordinating with carriers, warehouses, suppliers, and customers. They track shipments, resolve transportation issues, maintain shipping records, and ensure compliance with transportation regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing quotes for new customers and upcoming projects/jobs
  • Dispatch and track freight
  • Coordinate domestic and international freight shipments.
  • Monitor shipment status and provide updates to customers and internal teams.
  • Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork.
  • Resolve shipping delays, damaged goods claims, and delivery issues.
  • Maintain accurate freight records and transportation databases.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and transportation regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing and customer service teams.
  • Work with Accounting team on freight disputes / issues

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years Shipping/Logistics experience (FTL, LTL, FCL, LCL, small packages, etc.) a must
  • Knowledge of freight management systems and shipping software.
  • Knowledge of freight equipment types, a must
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Skills

  • Understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Salesforce CRM
  • Experience with ERP systems such as GoldFinch, SAP or Oracle.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
