Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Freight Broker is responsible for the solicitation, brokering, and management of all freight for customers, internal and external. Also responsible for managing carrier relationships, tracking load activity to ensure proper on-time metrics, and maintaining the proper documentation pertaining to all loads moved. Negotiates rates with carriers to achieve target margin goals.
The qualified candidate will communicate with existing customers and CSRs to obtain loads. They will work to generate new business within customer accounts, follow up with carriers, customers and CSRs on assigned loads, while maintaining profitability and productive working relationships with customer, carrier and CSR's representatives. This is an in-office position in our Central Point, OR office.
Skills & Requirements
BACKGROUND REQUIRED:
โ€ข Cradle-to-grave freight brokerage sales and account management (3 years minimum)
โ€ข Service offering (i.e. Flatbed, TL, LTL, Dry Van, Reefer)
โ€ข Strong Negotiation Ability (Customer, Carrier, Margin Integrity)
โ€ข Regional and National Accounts experience
โ€ข Computer literate (Microsoft Suite: Power Point, Word, Excel)
โ€ข Education: High School diploma or GED required
BACKGROUND PREFERRED (but not required):
โ€ข Familiarity with McLeod
โ€ข Education: College Graduate preferred; or may have an equivalent combination of education and experience
