Job description

About the Role:

The Limper position is responsible for filling and/or emptying bulk material storage areas.  It includes but is not limited to handling of materials such as cardboard paper, plastic and other debris.  Responsible for loading and unloading trucks with products from the client.  Sorting and storing materials for use in manufacturing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience operating forklifts and other freight-handling equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Certification in forklift operation but will be willing to train
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in navigating computers.

Responsibilities:

  • Help loading/unloading trailers with pallet jacks and dollies in accordance to established safety, performance, and accuracy standards.
  • Separate shipments onto pallets to transport elsewhere
  • Distribute production materials to designated locations
  • Observing the first-in-first-out inventory control practice
  • Restack damaged freight from pallet to pallet
  • Inspecting goods for damage, documenting when needed and verifying quantity
  • Shrink wrap staged pallets
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work areas clean
  • Exhibit ASW's values while at home based and client locations
  • Lumpers should be familiar with various equipment such as RF scanner, electric pallet jack, hand trucks and dollies.
  • Report any accidents and/or incidents to supervision immediately after the occurrence.
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse by conducting operations in a manner which promotes safety.

Skills:

In this role, you will use your skills in freight handling, equipment operation, and attention to detail to ensure that our customers receive their shipments on time and in excellent condition. You will also use your communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors, and your ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will be critical to your success. Additionally, your experience with inventory management systems and forklift operation will be beneficial in this role.
