Job description

We are looking for a Production Assistant for a top fashion company in NYC!
  • Pay: $20/hr

Responsibilities:
Sample Management
  • Manage collection shipments.
  • Communicate with International Sales and the US Traffic Department to ensure the clearance of all sample shipments through forwarding agents and various courier services.
  • Organize samples, swatch cards, and other sales tools in the showroom prior to four different selling seasons.

Photo Samples
  • Receive all advertising sample requests from Sales and communicate all needs to Germany.
  • Maintain sample charts to ensure timely delivery.
  • Track and deliver samples to Sales.

Purchasing
  • Work with Sales to place risk buys and ZRDC orders to reach minimums.
  • Maintain purchase orders daily by adjusting delivery dates based on ex-factory dates, updating faulty units, and indicating the mode of transportation when necessary.
  • Evaluate rejection reports from Germany and update Sales as needed.
  • Create reports during market season using BIS and SAP.
  • Monitor and clean out orders throughout each season.

Deliveries - Mode of Transport
  • Organize and monitor the AIR list.
  • Determine the appropriate mode of transportation through the RODEO system in SAP for each supplier.

Tracking Production Orders
  • Serve as the liaison between Merchandising, Sales, and International Sales.
  • Communicate daily with International Sales to obtain shipment tracking details and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Create delivery status reports to track shipments from suppliers, through customs, and to the warehouse to ensure on-time deliveries to customers.
  • Maintain delivery delay updates from Germany and communicate them to the appropriate Sales team.
  • Update delivery statuses upon receiving confirmations from Germany, HBI, and suppliers.
  • Support all divisions (DOS, Concession, and Wholesale) with delivery requests as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales, Merchandising, and Global Operations to proactively identify delivery timing needs and ensure required ex-factory dates are met.
  • Utilize system reports to provide feedback to upper management on future season deliveries and any anticipated challenges based on feedback from the Operations team in Germany.
  • Assist in logging and managing key programs and time-sensitive items from Sales to secure the appropriate transportation mode and inbound processing for on-time delivery to wholesale partners.
  • Assist management with solutions, sourcing strategies, and other initiatives in a proactive manner.

Special Projects
  • Coordinate in-house sample sales.
  • Work with jobbers to sell leftover merchandise.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 1 year of fashion industry experience required.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Strong team player with an excellent work ethic.
  • Analytical skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • SAP and BIS experience is a plus.
