Welcome to The Freelance Firm!
We are a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for our client law firms.
Due to increased demand, we are now interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dedicated Family Law Attorney to provide high-level legal research and drafting support.
This is a fully remote position with an anticipated workload of approximately 0-5 hours per week. While the client is based in New Mexico, New Mexico licensure is not required. A California-licensed attorney is preferred, but attorneys licensed in other U.S. jurisdictions with strong family law experience are encouraged to apply.
Attorney Responsibilities:
  • Conduct substantive legal research on complex family law issues
  • Draft high-quality motions, memoranda, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Assist with legal analysis and case strategy
  • Review case files and supporting documentation
  • Provide back-end litigation support to the firm's attorneys
  • Deliver accurate, well-reasoned work product within established deadlines
  • Collaborate with the firm's legal team on family law matters
Attorney Requirements:
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • California licensure preferred, but not required
  • Minimum of 5+ years of family law experience
  • Exceptional legal research and persuasive legal writing skills
  • Extensive experience drafting substantive family law pleadings and motions
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • FastCase experience is a plus, but not required
