The Service Writer assembles welding machines in accordance with manufacturer safety standards, responds to customer calls, and delivers courteous, professional service to customers and co-workers. This role also includes creating repair orders, converting work orders to sales orders, processing customer payments, reserving rental equipment, and preparing rental equipment to meet customer needs. By keeping service and rental processes accurate, efficient, and customer-focused, this position helps support customer satisfaction, operational success, and the continued growth of CK Supply.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assembles various new welding machines that necessitate gas hoses, power cables, setting voltage and building cylinder racks as required by manufacturer.
  • Ensures outgoing rental equipment is properly setup and tested.
  • Inspects all returned rental equipment and machines to ensure there is no damage and that equipment runs properly.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs MIG guns.
  • Ensures repaired equipment and rental equipment, for Branch locations, are staged in proper shipping area and enter delivery/billing tickets into computer.
  • Loads and unloads machines for customers.
  • Assist with incoming rental and service phone calls providing excellent customer service.
  • Enter new work orders and rental delivery tickets in system as needed.
  • Assist with log in of equipment for repair.
  • Practices all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and requirements including proper personal protective equipment for employees and visitors
  • Adhere to the CK Core Values through behavior and words
  • Other duties, as assigned, within the job classification and business

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous welding knowledge is required
  • 1+ years of experience performing comparable duties
  • Trade or vocational school completion is a plus
  • Ability to read and comprehend manual instructions
  • Basic computer skills required (Word, Teams, NetSuite, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
