Job description

Position:Director, Creative Video & Production

Reports to:SVP, Creative & Content

Location:Arlington, TX

ABOUT THE UFL

The United Football League (UFL) is the premier professional spring football league, powered by the visionary leadership and investment of Mike Repole and Impact Capital, RedBird Capital Partners, FOX, Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and ESPN. Built on innovation, accessibility, and competitive excellence, the UFL delivers a dynamic professional football experience for players, fans, and partners alike. The league currently features eight teams and is focused on building the next era of spring football, with expansion planned for 2028 and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tell the Stories That Define the Next Era of Spring Football. The United Football League is seeking a creative, strategic and highly collaborative video and production leader to build the team responsible for bringing the UFL and its eight teams to life on screen. From team launches and championship campaigns to social-first content, player features, documentaries, all-access programming, commercial shoots and broadcast features, this role will set the creative vision for how UFL stories move, sound and connect.

This is not simply about shooting football or producing more content. It is about making fans care before the ball is kicked, making players feel larger than life, making partners proud to be part of the UFL, and giving someone who has never watched spring football a reason to stop scrolling and think, \"Wait...what is this?\"

A major part of the job is building one of the best sports content studios in the industry. Sometimes you will be the creative director. Sometimes the executive producer. Sometimes the coach. Your job is not to make every video - it is to build a high-performing team that consistently makes great ones while establishing a storytelling standard that deepens fan connection, elevates players and teams, and strengthens the UFL brand.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Set and continually evolve the league's creative video vision across all eight teams and league initiatives.

  • Build, lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of videographers, editors, producers and production staff.

  • Serve as a creative leader and executive producer across major productions while empowering the broader team to deliver exceptional work.

  • Establish and protect a consistent visual style and storytelling standard across UFL content while giving teams room to tell stories with an authentic local voice.

  • Oversee a wide range of content, including social-first video, player features, documentaries, all-access content, commercial productions, team launches, championship campaigns and broadcast features.

  • Lead external production companies, freelancers and creative agencies as extensions of the UFL production team - setting clear direction, raising the creative bar and keeping execution efficient.

  • Develop production calendars, staffing plans and creative priorities across the season so multiple productions can move at once without losing focus or quality.

  • Partner closely with Social, Marketing, Design, Communications, Broadcast, Partnerships and Football Operations to develop cohesive, integrated campaigns.

  • Own production planning from concept through final delivery, including budgets, crews, equipment, logistics, staffing and scheduling.

  • Review cuts and provide thoughtful, actionable creative feedback that makes the work better - not simply different - while helping creative partners and team members grow.

  • Build production workflows that allow the team to move faster and work smarter without sacrificing creativity, craft or storytelling.

  • Stay ahead of emerging formats, technologies and production techniques, identifying the ideas and tools that can meaningfully keep the UFL ahead of the curve.

To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Demonstrated experience leading internal production teams and managing external agencies, production companies, freelancers and other creative partners.

  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional storytelling, creative concepting and production across multiple formats - not simply highlight reels. Candidates should be able to articulate their creative role and contribution to the work presented.

  • Strong understanding of video production, editing, post-production and creative development, with the ability to effectively direct and elevate the work of highly skilled creative teams.

  • Strong understanding of social-first storytelling, broadcast production and digital content strategy.

  • Deep understanding of sports storytelling, fan culture and the ability to turn athletes, teams and competition into compelling entertainment.

  • Proven experience managing production budgets, crews, equipment, logistics and complex production schedules.

  • Expert knowledge of Premiere Pro, After Effects and modern production workflows; hands‑on editing experience is a plus.

  • Strong creative judgment and the ability to give feedback that elevates the work, develops talent and protects a consistently high creative standard.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple productions and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment without making the chaos the team's problem.

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments, creative partners and stakeholder groups.

  • Demonstrated curiosity around emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools, and a willingness to experiment with new approaches to creative development, production and post-production.

  • Bachelor's degree in film, media production, communications, marketing or a related field preferred.
