Job description

Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring an English (ESL) Language Teacher to provide in-person, customized lessons to our client in Hoover, AL.

Job Information:

Ref. # 166938/199144

  • Students: Two siblings, aged 5 and 8, taking individual, back-to-back classes
  • Location: Lessons are to be held at the students' home in Hoover, AL 35226 (near Heritage Preschool of Ross Bridge on 2700 Ross Bridge Pkwy)
  • Availability: Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday at 9:30 AM or 10:00 AM
  • Lesson Frequency and Duration: Once per week, 1 hour per child
  • Current English level: To be assessed - they understand and speak English, but not fluently
  • Native language: German
  • Students' language needs and goals: Improving their language skills; they also need support for school

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering tailored, dynamic, effective, and engaging lessons
  • Developing curricula based on learners’ proficiency level and desired outcomes
  • Monitoring students’ progress and guiding learners toward learning goals
  • Communicating in an efficient, effective, and professional manner

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in English
  • Degree or certification in language teaching, education, instructional design, writing, language, linguistics, second language acquisition, or related field
  • Minimum of two years of ESL teaching experience
  • Experience working with children is a must
