Safety Manager - School Bus Operations
Help Keep Students Safe Every Day
We are seeking a Safety Manager to lead safety and driver training programs within our school bus operation. This role partners closely with local and regional leadership to promote a strong safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop safe, professional school bus drivers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise safety and training staff.
  • Oversee driver training, onboarding, and ongoing development programs.
  • Monitor safety performance, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation and safety-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, state, local, and company safety requirements.
  • Deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training.
  • Maintain driver qualification files, MVRs, evaluations, and other required records.
  • Analyze safety trends and recommend improvements that reduce risk and enhance student transportation safety.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of transportation, fleet, or school bus safety experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state transportation safety regulations preferred.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL with required endorsements and permits.
