ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, MAINTENANCE III King Hangar, Eglin AFB, FL Open Position Request Number: R-86-26 CLASSIFICATION: Electronics Technician Maintenance III; CBA Rate $39.38/Hr GRADE: Non-Exempt; Regular Full-time LOCATION: Eglin AFB, FL - On Site POSTING DATE: Internal Applicants Only (08/20/2026) ; External Applicants (08/26/2026) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must be a technical or service school graduate with two years experience in aircraft electronics and be able to read and understand Air Force Tech Orders. Required to perform with limited instructions or supervision. Must possess a general knowledge of electronic component characteristics to aid in the selection of replacement components and devices. Knowledge of other trades such as the mechanical skills necessary to repair and modify servo systems, pedestal-drive systems, waveguide installations, and optics associated with laser and camera systems a plus. Must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of test instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, frequency measuring equipment, and other related measurement instruments. Specific requirements include modification of F-15 and F-16 Suite 6 aircraft electronics. Installing aircraft instrumentation wiring, terminate wiring, installing connections, and installing numerous electronic wiring and systems for modification of the F-15 and F-16. Candidates must have a good understanding of basic electronic theories and techniques and familiarity with standard electronic components. GENERAL DUTIES: * Job functions include installation; troubleshooting; repair; alignment; and operation of typical electronic equipment such as radar systems, computers, data systems, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communication systems. * Will be capable of performing job functions utilizing appropriate manuals, schematics, and other documentation. * Fabricate, assemble, and install electronic components and systems in accordance with detailed technical orders, plans, and specifications. * Must be able to lift, pull, or carry weight and size commensurate with job requirements. * Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments with exposure to the conditions typical of the various work locations. * Must assist higher-level technicians in accomplishing modifications as well as identifying problems requiring further investigation. * May be required to assist senior level technicians in performing software adaptations and computer problem solving and repair or perform minor actions without higher-level assistance. Job Requirements OTHER DUTIES: Other functions include assisting in the orientation and training of other technicians at this level when directed by the supervisor. May be assigned additional responsibilities as a lead technician. Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks of a non-technical nature such as cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles and support vans, corrosion control, painting, lawn care, and others. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of a technical or military service school in a relevant field. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in aircraft electronics. Proficiency in reading and interpreting Air Force Technical Orders. In-depth knowledge of electronic component characteristics and their applications. Demonstrated expertise with standard test instruments, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and frequency measuring equipment. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. WORK ENVIRONMENT: May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
