Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking Machine Operators with a background in operating industrial manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the automotive, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing industries and possess a comprehensive understanding of metal forming processes and machinery operation.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate press machines and CNC/manual press brake equipment to form, bend, and shape metal components according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure precise production.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling, and fixtures to achieve accurate dimensions and tolerances.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical or operational issues and make adjustments to maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure consistent output within quality and production standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.
  • Handle raw materials and finished products, including loading/unloading metal components.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, OSHA standards, and company procedures in a manufacturing environment.
  • Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace in line with 5S standards.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • A minimum of 1 year spent at each position on resume.
  • Strong understanding of metal forming processes and machinery operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the automotive, aggregates, or heavy manufacturing sectors is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large indoor building that is non-climate controlled, equipped with large fans for air circulation. The facility includes large overhead cranes, air-conditioned break areas, restrooms, and office spaces. The first shift runs from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, the second shift from 2 PM to 10:30 PM, and the third shift from 10 PM to 6:30 AM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
