Test Engineer


Location: Orlando, FL

Work Environment: On-site

Position Overview


We are looking for a Test Engineer to develop and support electrical and functional testing processes for electronic products from initial development through production.

This position will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and production teams to create reliable test solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure products meet established performance and quality requirements.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement electrical and functional test methods for electronic assemblies and systems.
  • Design and support automated and semi-automated test systems using commercial test instruments and custom-built fixtures.
  • Develop specifications and designs for test fixtures, cables, adapters, and other test interfaces.
  • Create and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot failures identified during production, environmental testing, and product returns.
  • Review test results and manufacturing data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support new product introductions by establishing test strategies and preparing production test equipment.
  • Partner with design engineers to improve product manufacturability and testability.
  • Evaluate, validate, and release new test equipment, fixtures, and associated software for production use.
  • Assist with calibration, maintenance, and performance verification of test equipment.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams on software and system improvements that support testing operations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce test cycle time, increase production yield, and improve overall throughput.
  • Provide technical input when investigating nonconforming products and assist with determining appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain test processes in accordance with applicable quality requirements, industry standards, and internal procedures.


Technical Qualifications


The successful candidate should have experience working with electronic test systems and ideally have exposure to defense, aerospace, or other high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments.

Preferred technical experience includes:

  • RF and microwave testing and measurement techniques.
  • Use of RF and DC test equipment, including:
  • Vector Network Analyzers (VNA)
  • Spectrum Analyzers
  • Signal Generators
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Frequency Counters
  • Phase Noise Measurement Systems
  • Development and integration of Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Test rack design and system integration.
  • PCB layout or modification related to test systems.
  • Test cabling, adapters, fixtures, and interface hardware.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) and test data analysis.
  • Environmental, thermal, vibration, and qualification testing.
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly processes and IPC standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work with ITAR-controlled technical information.


Education & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Approximately 2–5 years of experience in electronic test engineering, depending on overall qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics.
  • Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting electronic test equipment.
  • Experience developing or supporting production test systems is highly preferred.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements


  • This is an on-site position requiring regular attendance at the facility.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at a computer and test station.
  • Ability to occasionally squat, bend, reach, and move around the production environment.
  • Ability to lift and handle items weighing up to approximately 25 lbs.
  • Occasional travel may be required to support equipment procurement, suppliers, or related engineering activities.
