This position is within the Space Missions and Sensing (SMS) Sector of the Sensors Division. In this sector, we develop and deliver technology to advance space-based sensing, space control, and counter-sensing missions.

The Role:

The SMS Sector is seeking a RF Engineer to support design, development, integration and test activities in a Research & Development environment. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team developing counter sensing systems for radar, electronic warfare and other applications. This position offers significant opportunities for career growth within a fast-paced and rapidly expanding company.

What you will do:

  • Work with small, multi-disciplinary teams to architect, design, implement, and test RF hardware systems enabling novel sensing, electronic warfare, and signal processing systems. The systems are predominantly fielded as deployable prototypes with the objective of transitioning to low-volume product systems
  • Collaborate with the team to quantify goals, system performance objectives, requirements, metrics, dependencies, and risks to guide your work
  • Design, simulate and test RF hardware systems, with an emphasis on RF system integration, test, and verification
  • Perform performance trade studies and analyses of proposed hardware architectures.  Conduct performance analysis through simulations and real-world testing to validate system performance.
  • Build, perform bench-top unit test, integrate, calibrate, and demonstrate/document system performance
  • Work with signal processing team on sensing system test concept and execution methods
  • Plan and implement over-the-air system tests and demonstrations, evaluate hardware and system readiness, , develop and evaluate performance metrics, verify requirements, manage system configuration and data, and write operational procedures, and performance reports
  • Review system effectiveness and identify opportunities to advance and/or mature subsystems and system capabilities
  • Prepare documentation including design specifications, drawings, test plans, and reports

Who you are:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required by U.S. Government
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline
