Clio

Calgary, AB • On-site, Remote

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision

Re-posted 4 days ago

Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our product team. This role is to lead a product portfolio that shapes how lawyers practice law and makes legal services more accessible. This role is available to candidates across the United States or Canada (excluding Quebec) in a remote capacity. If you are local to one of our hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto) you will be expected to be in office minimum two days per week for our Anchor Days.

What your team does

At Clio, we are building the future of legal practice, and that requires a deep, visceral understanding of the legal profession. As a former lawyer or legal professional, your firsthand experience with the day-to-day workflows, pain points, and administrative burdens of legal work isn't just a "nice-to-have"-it's an essential qualification. Your unique insights will directly inform our product strategy, ensuring we build solutions that truly resonate with and empower our customers.

You will join the Product team to lead a product portfolio that shapes how lawyers practice law and makes legal services more accessible. This role is focused on Clio's core case management product, a foundational part of our platform. Your lived experience will be critical as we dramatically improve usability, drive automation, and simplify attorney workflow with AI-powered tools.

What You'll Work On
  • Own a Core Product: Take accountability for a product portfolio with a direct impact on how legal work is practiced and delivered. You'll lead the strategy and roadmap for our core case management experience, a mission-critical component of our platform.

  • Transform User Experiences: You'll simplify legacy, form-heavy, and multi-tab experiences into efficient, intuitive workspaces. You have a passion for eliminating friction and creating "step-function improvements" that users love.

  • Drive AI-Powered Innovation: Use your legal domain expertise to envision how AI-driven automation can radically simplify attorney workflows and create meaningful efficiency gains.

  • Champion Product-Led Growth: You will lead with intuitive onboarding and automation solutions to make getting started and managing cases "dramatically easier," thereby driving user adoption and business growth.

  • Strategic & Data-Driven Execution: Synthesize business requirements and collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to design and deliver high-impact features. Your decisions will be guided by a balanced mix of data and customer research, and you will be relentless in measuring the impact of your work.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Ship and launch features end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams like Development, Product Design, Marketing, Sales, and Support

What You Bring
  • Prior Legal Experience: A background as a practicing lawyer, paralegal, or in a legal operations role is a significant asset. You should have a clear understanding of legal document standards, discovery processes, and litigation workflows.

  • Product Management Acumen: At least 6 years of product management experience in a SaaS or B2B software environment. This includes a proven track record of owning and shipping mission-critical products at scale.

  • Execution and Ownership: You are an outcomes-obsessed leader with a proven ability to make things happen, owning products throughout their lifecycle.

  • Strategic & Data-Driven Thinking: You are a visionary who uses both qualitative and quantitative data to drive product strategy, defining requirements and measuring impact. You are comfortable with ambiguity and have a strong track record of making decisions under uncertainty.

  • Collaboration: You are a natural collaborator who builds strong partnerships with Product, Design, and Engineering to deliver high-impact features that users love.

Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with AI-driven automation and machine learning concepts.

  • Prior experience selecting, implementing, or managing legal technology solutions (e.g., practice management software, e-discovery platforms) within a legal environment.

  • Experience in a non-traditional legal role, such as legal ops, legal tech consulting, or in-house innovation.

What you will find here:

Compensation is one of the main components of Clio's Total Rewards Program. We have developed a series of programs and processes to ensure we are creating fair and competitive pay practices that form the foundation of our human and high-performing culture.

Some highlights of our Total Rewards program include:

  • Flexible time off policy, with an encouraged 20 days off per year.

  • $2000 annual counseling benefit

  • RRSP matching and RESP contribution

  • Clioversary recognition program with special acknowledgement at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years

The expected salary range for this role is $137,500 to $186,100 CAD. Initial placement within the range is informed by geographic region, experience, and skillset, with room to progress as impact and tenure grow. Final offer amounts will vary based on candidate profile.
