What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance remote trader?

To thrive as a Freelance Remote Trader, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial markets, and often a background in finance, economics, or a related field. Proficiency with trading platforms (such as MetaTrader or Interactive Brokers), charting software, and sometimes certifications like CFA or FINRA licenses are commonly required. Outstanding self-discipline, risk management, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for success in this independent role. These skills are vital to making informed trading decisions, managing risks, and sustaining long-term profitability in a fast-moving market environment.

How do successful freelance remote traders typically manage their workflow and maintain discipline without direct supervision?

Freelance remote traders often structure their days around key market hours, setting a consistent routine to monitor markets, analyze trends, and execute trades. Without direct supervision, maintaining discipline is crucial—many traders use trading journals, set daily goals, and leverage trading platforms with built-in alerts to stay focused. Regular self-review and participation in online trading communities also help traders stay accountable and continuously improve. Time management and self-motivation are essential to balance research, strategy refinement, and execution while working independently.

What trades can you do remotely?

A freelance remote trade typically involves skills that can be performed online, such as graphic design, writing, programming, digital marketing, consulting, and virtual assistance. These roles often require proficiency with specific tools or software and can be completed from any location with internet access.

What is a freelance remote trader?

A Freelance Remote Trader is an individual who buys and sells financial instruments such as stocks, currencies, commodities, or cryptocurrencies from a location outside a traditional office, often from home or while traveling. Unlike traders who work for investment banks or trading firms, freelance remote traders operate independently, either for their own accounts or by managing client portfolios. They use online trading platforms and tools to analyze markets, execute trades, and manage risk. This career offers flexibility and the opportunity to work internationally, but it also requires strong discipline, market knowledge, and risk management skills.

AdTech Manager - Paid Social & Programmatic (LATAM)

Boston, MA • Remote

Job description

CYBBA

LATAM AdTech / Media Operations

AdTech Manager – Paid Social & Programmatic (LATAM)

Role

AdTech Manager – Paid Social & Programmatic (LATAM)

Team

LATAM AdTech / Media Operations

Location

Brazil / Mexico City (remote)

Reports to

LATAM AdTech Lead (solid line); in-country manager, Brazil and Mexico (dotted line)

Languages

Portuguese, Spanish, and English. All three required.

Level

Internal title: AdTech Manager – Paid Social & Programmatic (LATAM). Senior individual contributor — no direct reports.

About Cybba

Cybba is an enterprise advertising technology platform built for performance across the Americas. We combine paid media, programmatic trading, creative, and closed-loop retail measurement, with a particular strength in foot traffic attribution across Latin America. Our LATAM team runs campaigns for enterprise and government advertisers in Brazil and Mexico, supported by our Boston headquarters.

The Role

We are hiring a hands-on media operator who owns paid social end to end and can trade programmatic. This is the connective role across our LATAM book: you run social campaigns for clients in Brazil and Mexico, you present directly to those clients, and you back up the regional trader on the DSP whenever demand spikes or coverage is needed. Paid social is your primary specialty. Programmatic is required at a working level, with room to grow into additional channels.

This is a client-facing role. You will be on camera, answering technical questions live, and the work you set up has to be correct the first time. We need someone reliable, organized, and fast.

We are a small, agile team, so everyone owns the whole picture. You may join with deeper expertise in one area of digital media than another (that is expected), but you will be fully responsible across every domain this role touches, paid social and programmatic alike. There is no “not my job” here: if it needs doing, you own it.

A note on what this role asks. This is a fast-paced, high-ownership position, and we want to be upfront about that. The standards are high, priorities can shift quickly, and the hours flex to client needs rather than a fixed schedule. It is a great fit for someone who enjoys that pace and wants real responsibility. We share this early so you can decide whether it is the right match for you.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, build, launch, and optimize paid social campaigns across Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and emerging platforms for enterprise and government clients across Brazil and Mexico.
  • Own campaigns end to end: trafficking, QA, budget pacing, bid strategy, audience targeting, and creative setup. Catch errors before anything goes live.
  • Act as a client-facing expert on calls. Present on camera, answer technical questions in real time, and produce clear plans and recaps.
  • Trade and back up programmatic campaigns on the DSP (Display & Video 360, The Trade Desk, and others) during peak demand, vacation coverage, or absence. Keep the book live and optimized at all times.
  • Support the platform. Check client-facing dashboards on cybba.io and work with the Data and Analytics team to troubleshoot data delivery issues.
  • Document everything. Keep tickets current in Jira, flag risks early, and make sure any teammate can pick up your work without guesswork.
  • Partner with planners and account managers, turning briefs into media plans and then into live campaigns that hit pacing and performance targets.
  • Respond to time-sensitive launches outside standard hours when client deadlines require it. The LATAM market rewards speed and reliability.
  • Coordinate daily with the Boston AdTech team to align on process and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience. Six or more years of highly focused, hands-on in-platform campaign management across paid social and DSP, ideally at an agency or for enterprise advertisers.
  • Paid social. Proven expertise at scale across at least two major platforms. Meta and TikTok strongly preferred.
  • Programmatic. Hands-on trading experience in at least one major DSP. Display & Video 360 or The Trade Desk preferred.
  • Languages. Fluent Portuguese, professional Spanish, and professional English. All three are required.
  • Client-facing. Comfortable on camera, presenting to clients, and answering technical questions live.
  • Operating discipline. Process-driven and organized. Tickets kept current in Jira, risks flagged early.
  • Availability. Open to a non-standard schedule and able to handle time-sensitive requests at any time, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when client deadlines require it.
  • Full focus. This is a full-time, exclusive position. While in this role you may not hold a second job, freelance, or moonlight for any other company — Cybba must be your sole professional commitment.
  • Certifications. Meta Blueprint and at least one DSP certification (Display & Video 360 or The Trade Desk), current or obtainable within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on depth in a second DSP, with the ability to run programmatic independently.
  • Retail media, drive-to-store, or foot traffic attribution experience.
  • Campaigns run across multiple LATAM markets.
  • Ad serving experience (Campaign Manager 360).
  • Broader social certification coverage: TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google Ads.
  • Additional DSP certifications: Amazon DSP, StackAdapt, mediasmart

Success Metrics

  • Budget pacing held within target band across all managed campaigns.
  • Campaigns launched without QA errors. Correct the first time.
  • Every active campaign documented and ticketed, updated the same day.
  • Active, on-camera participation in client calls, with technical questions handled live.
  • DSP coverage maintained with no lapse during regional trader absence.
  • Client retention and satisfaction across managed accounts.

First 90 Days

  • Day 30: Fully ramped on every active social campaign. Tickets current, no launches missed.
  • Day 60: Running paid social independently across Brazil and Mexico. Presenting on client calls with confidence.
  • Day 90: Backing up the regional trader on DSP campaigns. Trusted to keep the book running during any absence.

How to Apply

Send your resume, the platforms and DSPs you have run at scale, and links or references for current certifications. Candidates who can show live client-facing work will move to the top of the list.
