Title: Discipline Manager

Location: Remote (with capability to work effectively in a remote setting)

Hire Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 (BOE)


Must have Skill Set: Strong technical knowledge of Natural Gas Design and related Codes, Consulting background/knowledge of consulting practices and KPIs, and capability to work independently in a remote setting.


Overview:

The Discipline Manager is responsible for managing key client natural gas projects, acting as the primary internal and external contact for program work of varying sizes. This leadership role focuses on executing projects on time, within budget, and according to strict company and client quality and technical expectations. Additionally, the role drives business growth by maintaining relationships with existing clients to organically expand the project base, while actively engaging new and potential clients to increase market reach.


Job Duties:
  • People Leadership: Provide transparent and timely performance feedback, coordinate training and development, mentor and coach staff, and conduct Career Development Discussions for direct reports.

  • Project Execution: Ensure quality completion of projects, conduct random quality audits, provide technical guidance in coordination with technical leads, and provide risk mitigation planning and project guidance to drive efficiency.

  • Fiduciary Tracking & Reporting: Track and report on resource utilization, allowable vs. actual hours, internal/external OTD (On-Time Delivery), project performance, and individual KPIs while managing and adjusting budgetary objectives based on analytical data.

  • Client & Vendor Relations: Conduct regular check-ins with internal and external clients, maintain excellent customer service standards, anticipate workload changes based on client feedback, and organically grow the existing project base.

  • Resource Planning & Financials: Review, approve, and audit invoices as needed; serve as a resource for invoicing questions; track resource utilization; and work with internal stakeholders and the Managing Director to assemble project teams.

  • Contracts & Proposals: Coordinate contract reviews and approvals, interpret contract requirements throughout project execution, and support proposal preparation by writing project approaches, compiling sample experience, pricing for the discipline, and building org charts.
