Job description

We are seeking an experienced ESRI ArcGIS Systems Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise GIS applications and systems critical to our business operations. This role applies comprehensive technical knowledge and practical experience to ensure reliability, security, scalability, and performance of ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will independently drive improvements, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and support advanced integrations across the enterprise GIS ecosystem.  This is an onsite position. 

Primary Responsibilities

•Administer and support ESRI ArcGIS enterprise applications, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

•Perform system installations, upgrades, patches, and configuration changes for ESRI ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related GIS software.

•Troubleshoot and resolve ESRI ArcGIS application-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.

•Monitor ESRI ArcGIS system performance, conduct routine maintenance, and implement improvements.

•Manage user access, roles, and security settings within ArcGIS Portal and related GIS environments, following compliance policies.

•Work closely with stakeholders to gather GIS system requirements and implement solutions.

•Develop and maintain ESRI ArcGIS system documentation, including configurations and troubleshooting procedures.

•Assist in the integration of ESRI ArcGIS applications with other enterprise systems and databases.

•Ensure GIS data integrity, backups, and disaster recovery strategies are in place for ESRI ArcGIS environments.

•Provide end-user support and training on ESRI ArcGIS application functionality and best practices.

•Support migration and modernization efforts for GIS applications, environments, and underlying databases.

Basic Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geography, GIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

•6+ years of experience in ESRI ArcGIS system administration or GIS application support.

•Deep knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise architecture, server roles, databases, and complex system configurations.

•Experience with ESRI ArcGIS application security, authentication methods, and role-based access controls.

•Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems as they relate to ESRI ArcGIS deployments.

•Proficiency with multifactor authentication and authorization practices, zero trust requirements, data in transit, and data at rest compliance requirements for GIS data.

•Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem‑solving abilities within ESRI ArcGIS environments.

•Experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise backup, recovery, and continuity strategies.

•Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills.

•Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell)

* US citizenship is required in order to obtain Public Trust clearance 

Preferred Qualifications

•Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., ESRI Technical Certification, Microsoft, AWS, ITIL).

•Experience with cloud-hosted ESRI ArcGIS applications and SaaS GIS platforms.

•Familiarity with DevOps practices as applied to GIS environments.

•Experience with Oracle or SQL Server database administration supporting ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
