Job description

GIS Specialist (Senior Engineer):
Performs systems analysis, concept and design, and program development, implementation, and documentation in the data processing specialty area of GIS. Prepares and implements user/project setup for any given GIS related project. Designs databases, automation and processing macros, and related analytical procedures. Maintains the application software, and the GIS databases. Performs digitizing tasks, as needed.
In addition to the items outlined for GIS Specialists, the suggested minimum training and education includes the following (NOTE: Comparable work experience is acceptable):
1. BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences.
2. 3 to 5 years of GIS production work using ESRI software.
3. 3 years of more of Python, Arcade, and/or Modelbuilder
4. Successful completion of any combination of the following ESRI training courses within the last two (2) years may be substituted for some of the following experience and/or time requirements:
a. Current ArcGIS Pro.
b. Building Geodatabases or like coursework.
c. Cartographic Production.
d. ESRI 3D Creation/Analysis or Visualization coursework
e. Enterprise Geodata Management or like coursework.
f. Modernizing field workflows using Fields for ArcGIS.
