Job description

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Prototype Fabricator to support advanced automotive prototype builds. This role requires strong fabrication, welding, machining, and mechanical abilities, along with the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, design, and program management teams.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly tasks on automotive prototype builds.
  • Fabricate complex assemblies, brackets, structural components, and one-off prototype parts.
  • Build models and fixtures using metal, wood, plastics, and other materials as required.
  • Apply strong automotive mechanical and electrical aptitude; must have own tools.
  • Interpret and work from detailed assembly drawings, including X/Y/Z dimensional data.
  • Identify root causes of assembly issues and implement corrective solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with design, engineering, and program management teams.
  • Maintain disciplined work-order accuracy and material-control processes.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • 2-5+ years relevant fabrication experience required.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding (steel & aluminum).
  • Proficiency in TIG welding (steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
  • Ability to operate shop equipment including Bridgeport mills, lathes, brake press, shears, and grinders.
  • Capability to diagnose and perform minor repairs on shop equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization skills; maintain a clean and efficient work area.
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends to support program deliverables.
