Job description:

Job Summary: $27-$29 per hour depending on skill level

We have an immediate opening for an experienced pressure vessel fitter in a premier tank manufacturing facility. This role is vital to ensuring the resulting end product is made to exact specifications as designated by the engineers and meets all quality standards. As such the following characteristics are a must:

  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure
  • Experience with basic metal working and metal working tools
  • Have good attention to detail and a desire to do quality work
  • A good work ethic and good attitude
  • Open minded to new ideas and design change
  • Must be able to take instruction and apply them in a timely manner
  • Must work well with others
  • Steady work history

Job Responsibilities:

· Aligns parts such as heads, flanges, valves and piping in relation to each other using jacks, come-a-longs, clamps, clips, wedges and mauls

· Operates cutting equipment including torches and various power and hand tools such as grinder.

· Read and comprehend welding instructions/structural and vessel drawings

· Safely operates iron worker, grinders, overhead cranes, rigging, pipe threading machine, welding machine, and various pneumatic hand tools

· Follow a strict daily schedule of jobs that need completion

· Complete assignments correctly and on time

· Continually maintain a clean working environment

· Use of a forklift to position parts and setup job area

· May perform other duties such as using a punch, metal shears, drill press, band saws, and pipe threader. (will train to use this equipment if needed)

Minimum Requirements:

· Ability to read and understand prints.

· Ability to read and understand measuring devices.

· Ability to work 40-48 hours a week and occasional Saturdays.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience as welder/fitter, on pressure vessels

· Must be able to pass a 2G,3g and 4G FCAW welding test

· Must be able to pass written fitter test.

· Must be able to tolerate temperature fluctuations.

· Basic geometry

Environment/Physical Requirements:

This position is carried out in a welding and metal fabrication environment and as such has the following physical work requirements:

· Must be able to lift 100lbs.

· Must have excellent vision either naturally or with correction.

· Must be able to stand for long periods; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl to reach hard to get at work areas; and use hands and arms to reach for, grasp, and manipulate objects.
