EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing maintenance experience required. Advanced troubleshooting experience in electrical, PLC, and motor control systems required. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Extensive knowledge of AC/DC motors, VFDs, control circuits, power distribution systems (120V-480V), hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated equipment required. Experience with PLC troubleshooting, programming modifications, and HMI interface systems preferred. Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout and OSHA electrical safety standards required.

BASIC DUTIES: The Electro-Mechanical Technician A is the highest-level skilled maintenance classification and is responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repair, installation, and modification of complex industrial electro-mechanical systems.

Duties include diagnosing and repairing machinery, motor control centers, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, power distribution equipment, and automated production systems. Technician will analyze equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce downtime.

Position requires the ability to interpret PLC ladder logic, troubleshoot I/O systems, replace and configure drives and control components, and perform advanced electrical testing using meters and diagnostic tools.

EM Tech A will lead major repairs, equipment installations, and system upgrades. Provides technical guidance and mentorship to EM Tech B, EM Tech C, and PM Technicians. Ensures compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety policies.

Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and responding to emergency breakdown situations.

Requires climbing ladders, working at heights, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in manufacturing environments including exposure to heat, dust, noise, vibration, and moving machinery.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree, journeyman certification, or equivalent industrial electrical training preferred.

Must be able to read and interpret advanced electrical schematics, PLC ladder logic, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical blueprints. Strong mathematical skills required including algebra, formulas, and electrical calculations..

PHYSICAL DEMAND: Somewhat disagreeable; exposure to high voltage systems, heat, noise, dust, oils, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
