Position – CMM Inspector

Location: Park City, UT

We are currently seeking an experienced CMM Inspector for an opportunity supporting an aerospace manufacturing environment in Park City, UT. This position is responsible for inspecting precision aerospace components and verifying compliance with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines and other precision inspection equipment
  • Inspect purchased and internally manufactured aerospace components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, digital models, customer specifications, and technical requirements
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and optical inspections
  • Determine product acceptance or rejection based on applicable requirements
  • Document inspection results and complete required quality records
  • Prepare nonconformance and rejection documentation as required
  • Program CMM equipment for accurate and repeatable inspections
  • Perform final inspections on components prior to shipment
  • Support Designated Supplier Quality Representative activities when qualified
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Summary of Education, Experience and Certification

High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 3 years of aerospace quality assurance or inspection experience preferred
  • Experience reading and interpreting aerospace blueprints required
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments required
  • Experience operating or programming CMM equipment preferred
  • Training in blueprint reading, precision measurement, or applied mathematics preferred
  • AS13001 certification is considered an asset

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of aerospace inspection practices and quality requirements
  • Ability to read complex engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
  • Experience performing close-tolerance dimensional inspections
  • Experience with Calypso, PC-DMIS, or similar CMM programming software preferred
  • General knowledge of CREO, SOLIDWORKS, CATIA, or similar software
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results and nonconformances
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, and use their hands to operate tools and inspection equipment.

The employee may occasionally be required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
