 Quality Assurance Software Tester (6 Month Temporary Position)

 

The Company: EPG International Private Limited (India) and its parent company, Electric Power Group (EPG), based in Pasadena, California, USA, is a leading software company that develops grid monitoring and analytics solutions for electric utilities and grid operators. The Software solutions support control center operations for real time monitoring and engineering functions for analytics, event analysis, and grid performance assessment. EPG has a global customer base with customers in the US, Europe, the Middle East, East Asia, India and Australia.


Current Opportunity: EPG is seeking to temporarily hire for QA Software Testing to work alongside our Quality Assurance team for a 6 month period.


Key Responsibilities:

The QA Software tester plays an integral role in ensuring software is free of bugs and meets functional requirements. This individual will be responsible for creating test plans and scripts, executing manual and automated tests, identifying and documenting defects, and collaborating with software development and engineering teams to resolve issues for software releases. This is a dynamic role with exposure to key stakeholders across the organization. Specific responsibilities will include:


·        Test planning and creation: Design and develop test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures based on project requirements.


·        Testing: Execute tests using manual or automated methods to identify defects, inconsistencies, or performance issues. Execution of various tests including functional, regression, integration, performance, and stability testing.


·        Defect management: Document and report any bugs or problems found, using a bug tracking system.


·        Collaboration: Work closely with the QA, Software Development, and Engineering team members to discuss issues and ensure resolution in a timely manner.


·        Feedback and reporting: Provide feedback on software usability and functionality to developers and stakeholders. Create and maintain detailed test reports.


·        Customer Acceptance Testing: Lead and/or participate in customer acceptance testing (FAT/SAT/UAT) activities for Customer Software Deployments.

 

·        Documentation: Maintain documentation of test procedures and a database of known defects.


·        Process improvement: Participate in design reviews and help to establish quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

•        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field

•        Minimum 2 years' experience

•        Prior QA software testing experience

•        Onsite position based in Pasadena, California (hybrid may be considered)


Nice to Haves:

•        Broad knowledge of software development practices and programming languages

•        Familiarity with SQL databases

•        Experience working with Agile software development processes

•        Familiarity with Azure DevOps tools
