Job description

Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 DOE

The Good News Broadcasting Association of Canada (GNBAC) is the organizational umbrella of Back to the Bible Canada and Laugh Again ministries. GNBAC is dedicated to leading people closer in their relationship with Jesus through Bible teaching and engagement ministries.

Back to the Bible Canada is looking for a Ministry Content and Resource Lead to write and oversee our content from idea to finished product across primarily print, but also audio, video, including review for theological accuracy. This will mean you will make sure everything we produce is biblically sound and reaches today's audience in a fresh, engaging way. This role carries editorial authority over accuracy and tone, along with the creativity to shape new programs. You may also speak or present on behalf of the ministry. This is an in-house position with the willingness and ability to be able to travel within Canada if required. This position reports to the CEO and Director of Ministry Communications.

Key Responsibilities

Produce Content Across Formats

  • Oversee and write content from concept through finished product for print, audio (radio or podcast) and video.
  • Work with production and creative staff to deliver a finished ministry product
  • Set the tone and style for each format to fit its audience

Oversee Accuracy and Quality

  • Approve content for theological accuracy and alignment with our statement of faith
  • Guide other writers, freelancers, or volunteers on biblical accuracy and quality standards
  • Handle sensitive or complex Bible topics with care and discernment

Develop and Create Content

  • Work with creative team to write and produce scripts, articles, devotionals, and other content that reflect our mission and beliefs
  • Shape new and creative program ideas that connect with today's audience
  • Track trends in Christian media to inform new content decisions

Edit and Repurpose Content

  • Edit content so it is clear, accurate, and reads well
  • Determine how older content can be updated and adapted to develop new ministry resources (for example, turning a radio program into a written devotional or short video)
  • Maintain a consistent voice and message across all content

Represent the Ministry

  • Represent Back to the Bible Canada at events, churches, or in the media when needed. The willingness and ability to travel within Canada is a must and potentially in the US or internationally.
  • Speak or present content clearly and authentically on behalf of the ministry

What You'll Need

Required

  • A personal Christian faith, and agreement with our statement of faith
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with examples of past work
  • A solid understanding of theology that represents the legacy and perspective of BTTBC
  • Ability to oversee a project from concept to finished product
  • Comfort speaking or presenting on camera, on air, or in person
  • Be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada (Canadian Citizen, Landed Immigrant or hold a current valid Canadian work visa.)
  • A minimum BA in related studies, the preference is a Masters in related studies.
  • Ability to manage your own time and multiple projects

What Success Looks Like

  • Creation of new and innovative content that is biblically sound and connects with today's audience
  • A consistent standard of accuracy and quality across everything produced
  • The adaptation of existing content for new formats without losing its message
  • Content creation that engages a new and growing audience with audio, video, and print content
  • A trusted voice who can represent the ministry well
