Summary

We are seeking Senior Java Developers to join our team on a 1-year fixed term. As a Java Developer at Deloitte, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications or software solutions for a leading North American Bank. This long-term staff augmentation role requires strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot. You will collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and project managers to deliver high-quality solutions to our client.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you will design and develop Java applications by writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code using Java and Spring Boot, translating business requirements into technical solutions that follow best practices. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, project managers, and quality assurance professionals to ensure clear communication and smooth delivery across the software development lifecycle.

 
A key part of your work involves troubleshooting and debugging, identifying and resolving technical issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks by analyzing logs, using debugging tools, and partnering with the team to implement fixes. You will support quality by participating in unit, integration, and system testing, writing test cases, executing tests, and reporting defects to maintain reliability. Finally, you will commit to continuous learning, staying current with Java technologies, frameworks, and best practices through training, certifications, and knowledge sharing with colleagues.

You are someone with these required skills, experience & qualifications:

  • Extensive professional experience in java development, with a history of working on large and complex applications with high business and customer impact
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
  • Database Knowledge: professional experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional working experience within Agile or Scrum environments.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in the financial services/banking industry.
  • Analytical/ Decision Making Responsibilities
  • Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
  • Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
  • Excellent Written and Communication Skills
  • Ability to deliver technical demonstration

The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $138,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
