Java Developer

You will be part of a team that is key to help grow CLIENT’s Defined Benefit (Pension Plan Administration) business. In addition to working on client projects, you will participate in technology transformation initiatives to incorporate the newest technologies and improve product features.

CLIENT’s Defined Benefit Technology team is seeking a Java Developer to work on key client implementation and corporate action initiatives. The team supports the recordkeeping and administration of Defined Benefit (also known as pension) plans on behalf of CLIENT’s corporate clients, their employees and retirees. This group is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter to join its multifaceted, globally distributed team of IT professionals responsible for the design and development of DB Calculation Engine Applications at its North Carolina site.

The expertise we’re looking for:

  • BS or above in Computer Science or related field
  • 10 years of development experience with proven understanding of Core Java, Spring Framework, XML, Web Services and Sybase/SQL/Relational Databases is required
  • Hands on experience with actuarial science / Defined benefits domain is preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum project environment with project team members in multiple locations, including offshore, preferred
  • Understanding of Object-oriented analysis and design concepts

  • Develop and maintain Defined Benefit (DB) calculation engine applications, using Java, Spring Framework, XML, HTML, JDBC, SQL, Sybase, JUnit, and JaCoCo.
  • Build and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for defined benefit applications, using Maven, Jenkins, Stash, and Sonar.
  • Optimally operate in agile software delivery environment / Scrum.
  • Work closely with application owners, solution architects and business sponsors
  • Ensuring code meet performance, security, usability, and reliability and scalability requirements.
