Summary of Position
The Director of Supply Chain oversees and directs all aspects of the company's purchasing, supply chain, and facilities management functions across multiple divisions in the company's enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient procurement, inventory control, vendor relations, and space utilization that align with organizational growth and strategic plans. The Director will play a key leadership role in developing long-term supply chain strategies, negotiating high-value vendor agreements, analyzing resource needs, and providing recommendations on operational efficiencies, including office space and facilities usage. By combining tactical purchasing responsibilities with strategic supply chain leadership, this position ensures the company's resources are managed effectively to support business goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
  • Oversee the daily workflow, schedules, and performance of the Supply Chain & Purchasing Department.
  • Provides strategic direction and ensures alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develops and mentors team members to strengthen overall departmental capabilities.

Vendor & Contract Management
  • Leads vendor management and reporting processes, including development of Vendor Report Cards.
  • Negotiate strategic vendor agreements, including payment terms, rebates, volume discounts, and multi-branch supply chain contracts.
  • Serves as the company's representative in negotiations with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Evaluates and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.

Inventory & Supply Chain Operations
  • Oversee inventory management processes, ensuring accurate monthly reporting to the VP of Supply Chain.
  • Monitors product availability, forecasts future supply needs, and prepares market and cost analysis reports.
  • Collaborates with Operations to assess equipment needs, evaluating repair vs. replacement decisions.

Strategic Planning
  • Develops and implements long-term supply chain strategies that support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Analyzes market trends and provides strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Designs and implements policies and procedures for purchasing, inventory, and contract management.

Facilities & Space Management
  • Reviews employee headcount and operational growth to provide office space recommendations.
  • Oversees building space utilization to ensure cost-effective, safe, and efficient use of facilities.
  • Partners with leadership on facilities-related agreements, leases, and long-term occupancy planning.

Financial Management
  • Administers the departmental budget, including setting annual rental rates and rebate programs.
  • Collaborates with Finance and Operations to ensure alignment of purchasing and capital equipment decisions.
  • Prepare financial forecasts for supply chain expenses.

Operations Support
  • Coordinates lodging, credit applications, and special project procurement.
  • Supports Operations by sourcing products, negotiating equipment rentals, and scheduling logistics.
  • Monitors and resolves discrepancies with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

Position Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field (master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, purchasing, or procurement, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor contract negotiation and vendor performance reporting.
  • Experience with multi-branch supply chain management and facilities/space planning.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, set departmental goals, and deliver measurable results.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office Suite skills; ability to work with ERP.
