Job description

Krazan & Associates is a full-service engineering firm with offices across the West Coast. We are currently seeking a Field Engineer/Geologist to join our VEIR department in Clovis, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in environmental investigation, remediation, and regulatory compliance while working alongside experienced Professional Geologists and Engineers on projects throughout California.


We are looking for someone eager to learn, committed to professional growth, and comfortable working in a hands-on field environment. This position provides opportunities for technical training, mentorship, and advancement toward California Professional Geologist (PG) licensure.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air investigations and sampling
  • Perform groundwater sampling and field screening using environmental monitoring equipment
  • Oversee drilling, trenching, excavation and monitoring well installation activities Prepare field logs, boring logs, daily reports, technical memoranda, and environmental reports
  • Support environmental remediation, soil management, construction oversight, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Assist with remediation system operation and maintenance
  • Coordinate field activities with contractors, laboratories, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Follow project-specific Health and Safety Plans and safety procedures


Field & Physical Requirements:

  • Work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain
  • Navigate construction sites, drilling locations, excavations, and undeveloped properties
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach during field activities
  • Regularly lift and carry equipment and samples up to 50 lbs., with occasional lifting upto 100 lbs. with assistance
  • Work around heavy equipment, drilling rigs, excavation activities, roadways, and industrial facilities
  • Wear required PPE, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing and high-visibility protection, and respiratory protection when required
  • Travel throughout California, including occasional overnight travel


Qualifications:

  • Education: BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology or Civil Engineering
  • Certification: OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred)
  • Skills: Strong communication, technical writing, organization, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Software: Microsoft Office Suite and GIS (preferred)
  • Licenses: Valid Driver’s License with good record (company vehicle provided)
