Freelance Financial information

What is a freelance financial professional?

A Freelance Financial professional is an independent contractor who provides financial services, advice, or analysis to clients on a project or contract basis rather than as a full-time employee. They may work in areas such as accounting, financial planning, bookkeeping, investment analysis, or consulting. Freelance financial professionals often work with multiple clients, offering flexible and specialized expertise tailored to each client's needs. This career path offers the freedom to choose projects and set one's own schedule, but also requires strong self-management and business development skills.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a freelance financial analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Financial Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a solid grasp of financial modeling, and a relevant degree such as finance, accounting, or economics. Expertise in tools like Microsoft Excel, financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg), and familiarity with accounting software or certifications such as CFA or CPA are highly valued. Outstanding communication, time management, and client relationship skills help set top freelancers apart. These competencies enable accurate financial analysis, effective client service, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.

What are some common challenges freelance financial professionals face when managing multiple clients?

Freelance financial professionals often juggle several clients at once, which can make time management and prioritization challenging. Each client may have unique needs, deadlines, and reporting requirements, so staying organized and maintaining clear communication is essential. Additionally, freelancers are responsible for their own administrative tasks, such as invoicing and tax filing, which adds to their workload. Leveraging project management tools and setting clear expectations with clients can help mitigate these challenges and ensure efficient service delivery.

Job description

We're looking for a talented, creative individual to join our KBP Communications team and help bring our brand to life through impactful visuals and storytelling.
We're seeking a Creative Content Specialist who can transform ideas into engaging graphics, video, and social media content - capturing stories from across our business. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role for someone early in their career who is a true versatile player, equally comfortable with graphic design, video editing, and social strategy.
What You'll Do:
  • Design graphics for internal communications, social media, presentations, and other visual assets while maintaining KBP brand standards across all materials.
  • Build templates and branded assets that make internal communications and presentations easy to update and consistently on brand.
  • Support creative design needs for company initiatives, including recognition programs, KBP Cares, and other corporate events.
  • Edit and produce engaging short-form video content for internal communications and social media, including executive interviews, recap videos, reels, and behind-the-scenes content.
  • Manage the full video production process, including editing, basic color correction, audio, and final delivery using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut.
  • Develop and execute content strategies across Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, including managing the content calendar, monitoring performance metrics, and optimizing content based on results.
  • Engage with online audiences by responding to comments and messages while fostering an authentic social media community.
  • Capture photo and video content at company events and provide live event coverage, social media posts, stories, and polished post-event recap content.
  • Write engaging social media captions and other short-form internal communications, including text messages and company announcements, while ensuring content is accurate, on brand, and aligned with KBP's voice.
  • Collaborate across departments to bring company stories to life through compelling visual and written content.
  • Maintain flexibility to support occasional evening or weekend events as business needs require.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of professional experience spanning graphic design, video editing, and/or social media (internships and freelance work count).
  • A true multi-hyphenate creative, comfortable moving between design, video, and social platforms, with hands-on experience in at least two of these disciplines.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign) for design work.
  • Working knowledge of video editing tools such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar.
  • Solid writing and copy-editing skills.
  • A portfolio demonstrating range across design and video work is required for consideration.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to own a plan and execute against it.
  • Strong storytelling instincts across visual, video, and written formats.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Comfortable with occasional flexible hours around key events.
  • Experience managing a brand's social media presence, especially growing a following from scratch, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with social scheduling and analytics tools is preferred.
  • Restaurant or franchise business experience is preferred.

What KBP Brings to the Table:
KBP is a leading restaurant franchise group with a clear vision: to be a great place to work, a great place to eat, and a great place to own. We're focused on sustainable growth that creates opportunities for our business and our people. We're looking for individuals who share our values and want to be part of a culture built on inclusion, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Our Leawood, KS home office supports KFC, Taco Bell, Arby's and Sonic restaurants across the country. It's a dynamic environment where teamwork, learning, and personal growth are part of everyday life.
If you are looking to join an energetic, entrepreneurial company with countless opportunities to grow - personally, professionally, and financially - KBP is the right fit for you.
Compensation: Offers are based on each candidate's experience and qualifications.
Benefits: Full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage, short- and long-term disability, a 401(k) company match, paid time off, life insurance, and AD&D coverage.
