Electrical Estimator / Project Estimator


Watson Electrical & Lighting is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our growing team.


The successful candidate will work full-time from our office and must be capable of visiting project sites, meeting with clients, builders, property managers, and general contractors as needed.
Position Requirements


This is a FULL-TIME, W-2 employee position with Watson Electrical & Lighting. We are seeking a dedicated team member who will become an integral part of our company and work directly with our staff, clients, and field personnel. We are NOT seeking a remote estimating service, outsourced estimating company, freelance estimator, independent contractor, or consultant. Applicants must be interested in long-term, full-time employment with Watson Electrical & Lighting.


While this position is office-based and requires regular in-person collaboration, site visits, and client meetings, after a successful 90-day onboarding and training period, limited work-from-home flexibility may be available when needed and approved by management. However, candidates must be local and able to work from our office and attend project-related meetings and site visits as required. Additionally, for the right candidate, based on demonstrated productivity, bid accuracy, overall performance, and level of experience, a more permanent work-from-home arrangement may be considered after the initial 90-day period at management’s discretion.


• Minimum 3 years of electrical field experience
• Minimum 5 years of electrical estimating experience
• Strong understanding of residential and commercial electrical construction
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and electrical plans
• Experience performing job walks, site surveys, and scope reviews
• Comfortable meeting with builders, property managers, homeowners, and project teams
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office products
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prepare accurate and competitive bids while maintaining company profitability
Responsibilities
• Review plans, specifications, and project documents
• Perform site visits and field surveys as required
• Prepare complete material and labor estimates
• Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor pricing
• Submit proposals and bid packages
• Coordinate with project managers, field personnel, and clients
• Track bid opportunities and maintain estimating records
• Assist with value engineering and budget development
