Job description

Overview
Responsible for containerizing applications and migrating from a VM architecture. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.
Responsibilities
  • Implement containerization and Kubernetes capabilities with documented architecture and configurations that can scale globally across the enterprise.
  • Work with development, engineers, and cloud service providers to develop cloud adoption and migration strategies
  • Drive architectural discussions in support of business requirements gathering, analysis, and design
  • Engineer highly scalable and available solutions based on industry best practices and practical experience
  • Collaborate with Developers, Systems Operations, and vendors as needed to solve integration challenges
  • Recommend tools and methodologies to engineers, create proof-of-concept implementations for demonstration
  • Break large complex systems into manageable subsystems and components, each of which can be managed by individuals or teams in a scalable manner
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and utilize version control systems, such as Git

Qualifications
  • Experience with installing and managing Kubernetes (CKA preferred)
  • Experience with at least one service mesh platform (istio, consul, etc.)
  • Experience with managing Linux environments, supporting applications such as Redis, ElasticSearch, etc.
  • Familiar with Logging Monitoring and Alerting platforms such as Prometheus, and Alertmanager, etc.
  • Experience in at least one of: python, go, javascript, or ruby.
  • Experience with security hardening for compliance frameworks (CIS Benchmark, etc)
  • Experience designing and working in AWS or Azure at an enterprise level
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Deployment processes and technologies
  • A degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional relevant experience

Preferred:
  • AWS certs, Azure certs, and/or Certified Kubernetes Administrator is a plus.

The expected salary range for this role is $115,000-$150,000/year.
