Job description

North Point Technology is seeking an experienced TS/SCI Cleared Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) expertise to support the development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems. The selected engineer will play a central role in deploying microservices through a DevSecOps pipeline within a Linux-based multi-tenant environment, leveraging AWS cloud services, GitLab CI/CD, and containerized workloads to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient capabilities to the customer.

This program requires employees to hold an active TS/SCI clearance and be a U.S. Citizen. Candidates must also be DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant (Security+ or equivalent), or able to obtain certification within 60 days of start.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the deployment of microservices through a DevSecOps pipeline within a Linux-based multi-tenant environment
  • Design, implement, and secure virtual networks within AWS, including VPC architecture and connectivity
  • Diagnose and resolve VPC network connectivity issues across development and production environments
  • Develop, update, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipeline code to enable rapid, reliable delivery of capabilities
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy Docker containers in support of microservice workloads
  • Review code within Git and extract or create engineering documentation as needed
  • Support developer deployments and testing activities within the environment
  • Provide technical guidance to development teams across all capabilities and microservices
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive DevOps documentation
  • Conduct security remediation in response to vulnerability scans and audit findings
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned to support program success

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline with 8+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent), or ability to attain certification within 60 days of start
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with GitLab functionality, error codes, and scripting
  • Experience using AWS services and technologies (e.g., CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS)
  • Experience with AWS Serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, load balancing, autoscaling)
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based architectures
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflows
  • Understanding of custom code development and code review practices
  • Experience supporting development testing
  • Knowledge of software development and software sustainment practices
  • Experience working with team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with GitLab CI/CD in a production setting
  • Experience with AWS Lambda and AWS ECS
  • Experience troubleshooting, configuring, and deploying Docker containers at scale
  • AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect)
  • Linux certifications
  • Experience with ArcGIS or other geospatial technologies
