Reports To: RF Tech Lead
Our client sets the standard in the design and manufacturing of next generation high power solid-state amplifiers. Essential Functions of the Role: Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements and comparison against company capabilities. Recommend the development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needs. Support sustaining engineering activities. Design of new ground-based and airborne microwave and millimeter-wave up-converters, down-converters and amplifiers (SSPAs).
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Product definition: requirements, functions and features, specification, and design objectives of RF assemblies
  • Configuration, Preliminary and detailed design of RF assemblies including analysis and simulation of RF performance
  • Oversight of creation of subassembly test plans and procedures
  • Oversight and participation in integration, test, and qualification of new products and product upgrades
  • Evaluate customer requirements as they apply to upconverter and downconverter capabilities.

Key Competencies:
  • RF circuit design, simulation, prototyping and testing for frequencies ranging from L-band through Ka-band
  • RF circuit layout and drafting
  • Documentation of product test procedures
  • Transfer of products from Engineering to Manufacturing
  • Follow new technology and research developments in industry and academia
  • Follow new products and developments from competitors

Specific skills required to perform this job:
  • RF/microwave circuit design and test
  • Analysis and design of frequency conversion components (upconverters and downconverters)
  • Facility with microwave circuit tools such as Microwave Office
  • Facility with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS

Additional desirable skills:
  • Analysis and design of microwave/millimeter-wave Power Amplifiers
  • Analysis and design of linearizers
  • Experience with project management, and facility with work breakdown structures, schedules, and tools such as MS Project

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering or Physics with at least 10 years' experience in RF/microwave communications systems, component design, test and verification, or M.S. and at least 6 years' experience
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required typing skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Must be able to sit for an extended period of time
