What is a freelance computer professional?

A freelance computer professional is an individual who offers computer-related services on a contract or project basis, rather than working as a full-time employee for a single company. Their work can include software development, IT support, web design, cybersecurity, or other computer-related tasks. Freelancers often work with multiple clients, manage their own schedules, and set their own rates. This flexibility allows them to choose the projects they take on and the hours they work, but it also means they are responsible for finding clients and managing their own business operations.

  • Provide basic audio support, including setup and troubleshooting of audio consoles, wireless microphone systems, and related equipment.
  • Lead and direct local crews, freelance technicians, and junior team members during event setup and execution.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to equipment configurations, system layouts, and event-specific technical requirements.
  • Follow company safety standards, operational procedures, and quality expectations.
  • Such other duties as may be determined and assigned by 3G.

Qualification and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in live event production, broadcast video engineering, corporate AV, or related technical environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of video signal routing and distribution, including SDI, HDMI, NDI, and related video standards.

  • Familiarity with drafting software and technical documentation programs preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live event and client-facing environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, production teams, and technical personnel.
  • Ability to lead and direct crews, freelance technicians, and other support personnel.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and work safely around powered equipment.
  • Maintain professional conduct and positively represent 3G Productions at client sites and events.

  • Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, odd/long hours, and extended travel as needed to support event schedules.
  • 3G Productions strives to support work-life balance; however, this role requires flexibility due to the nature of live events and client-facing production work.
  • Compensation for hours worked will be administered in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws and Company policy.
