About the Role

Are you an educator who thrives at the intersection of student mentorship and academic operations? Maple Leaf Collegiate is seeking talented, highly motivated, and versatile high school teachers & tutors to join our academic team.


In this role, you will actively shape the student experience. This unique position blends 1-on-1 and small-group instruction with administrative and school operations support. Working directly alongside the School Principal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our students succeed academically while helping our school run smoothly behind the scenes.


What You’ll Do

  • Targeted Teaching: Deliver high-quality, customized 1-on-1 and small-group tutorial lessons in your respective subject area.
  • Engaging Methodologies: Devise and execute innovative learning and teaching strategies to retain student interest and spark academic curiosity.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Conduct regular practice tests, accurately document student progress, and provide structured, actionable feedback to guide student improvement.
  • Academic Reviews: Conduct periodic individual student reviews to ensure academic goals are consistently met.
  • Online Curriculum: Support the development of our online curriculum by creating courseware and record lessons.




Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in education or a related subject domain.
  • Experience: 1+ years of proven teaching or tutoring experience in your specialized subject.
  • Tech-Savvy: Highly computer literate with the ability to seamlessly use productivity and remote delivery programs (Microsoft Office, ZOOM, GEN AI Tools).
  • Availability: Availability to work flexible shifts across weekdays covering daytime and/or evening schedules.
  • Bilingual Capability: Ability to effectively teach or consult in Mandarin in addition to English.


Preferred Skills & Assets

  • Previous experience teaching secondary or university students.
  • Strong familiarity with the OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) curriculum.
  • Prior experience instructing international student demographics, specifically Chinese students.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in a hybrid mode (blending on-campus and online)
  • OCT (Ontario Certified Teacher) Certificate preferred but not required.
