Brand Narrative and Asset Strategist

NetBrain

Burlington, MA

Full-time

Job description

What We Need

We are seeking a Brand Narrative & Asset Strategist to build and run NetBrain's brand storytelling across two connected motions: campaign-integrated asset development and an always-on brand program. This role is accountable for both producing the work and setting the narrative strategy behind it - deciding the angle, format mix, and editorial approach for the always-on program, and shaping how campaign briefs translate into a coherent asset plan, rather than executing a fully scoped plan handed down from someone else.

This is a hands-on role. You will personally write, produce, and ship content across formats - blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, ebooks, webinars, email nurture, video, and social - and bring in the agency of record or freelance support for work beyond what one person can carry on deadline. This is a hybrid role based our of our Burlington, MA headquarters.

What You'll Do

Campaign-Integrated Asset Development

  • Take campaign objectives and thought starters from the Director, Integrated Campaigns and shape them into a complete asset plan and narrative approach across the buyer journey - identifying gaps, not just filling in what's already specified.
  • Translate complex technical and product concepts into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and business buyer personas.
  • Build production plans covering every asset, owner, milestone, and dependency, sequenced against campaign launch timing.
  • Write, produce, and deliver assets against campaign briefs across formats - blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, ebooks, webinars, video scripts, email nurture, and social - matched to audience, funnel stage, and approved messaging.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Integrated Campaigns to align content with campaign strategy across the full funnel (TOFU/MOFU/BOFU).
  • Track and report campaign asset performance against defined metrics, including engagement, conversion, and pipeline influence - not just traffic or reach - with recommendations that inform the next campaign build.

Always-On Brand Program

  • Develop and maintain NetBrain's always-on narrative strategy and editorial calendar - audience, themes, channels, formats, and cadence - aligned to campaign priorities, product launches, and pipeline goals, looking at least four to six weeks ahead.
  • Personally produce and ship the majority of always-on material, bringing in freelance or agency support for format types or volume beyond individual capacity.
  • Track awareness and engagement metrics and use them to adjust the always-on strategy on an ongoing basis.
  • Support SEO strategy for owned content, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and organic traffic growth.
  • Contribute to thought leadership efforts, including executive ghostwriting, bylines, and speaking or webinar content.
  • Lead a quarterly review of the always-on strategy for the VP, Integrated Marketing, with recommendations for the following quarter.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with the Director, Integrated Campaigns to align asset production with campaign timing and objectives.
  • Partner with Solutions Marketing to build messaging-aligned content that supports positioning and competitive differentiation, confirming alignment before any asset - campaign or always-on - goes into production.
  • Brief, edit, and quality-control work from the agency of record or freelance contributors on assets this role delegates for capacity reasons, ensuring it meets the narrative and quality bar this role has set.
  • Maintain and evolve brand voice and editorial standards across all written content produced for this role's two lanes.
  • Provide regular performance and strategy reporting to the VP, Integrated Marketing across both motions, using engagement, conversion, and pipeline data to refine strategy on an ongoing basis.

What You Bring

  • 6+ years of B2B SaaS marketing experience spanning brand storytelling, content strategy, campaign execution, or integrated marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to both produce polished, on-brand assets across formats (written, video, social) and originate a longer-term brand or editorial strategy, not just execute one already defined.
  • Strong project management skills, able to run multiple concurrent production timelines against hard campaign deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience adapting tone and format across audiences and channels.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable defining KPIs and using performance data to guide format, channel, and cadence decisions.
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and content performance tools (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot).
  • Experience briefing or directing freelance or agency partners on discrete pieces of work.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or equivalent.
  • Ability to move fluidly between hands-on production and independent strategic planning without losing quality on either.
  • Experience marketing enterprise technology or network operations solutions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing (ABM) content strategies preferred
  • Experience supporting a product launch or category-narrative effort is nice-to-have
  • Manual Dexterity: Repetitive motion of wrists, hands and fingers for using a computer.
  • Stationary Tasks: Sitting for extended periods, remaining in a stationary position.
