Want to work in a state of the art Health and Wellness facility?  If so, consider joining the Frederick YMCA family as a Personal Trainer. We are hiring those who believe in our mission to enable every member of the Frederick County community to live healthier, strengthen family bonds and improve our community.  

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Personal Trainer Level I is a valued asset of the YMCA team.  They offer specialized services to members to help them achieve their fitness goals.  Their training and experience are vital to the success of Health and Wellness program.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must maintain current certification credentials through nationally accredited organizations.
  • Ability to carry out the duties safely and responsibly by using effective exercises and recommendations for a variety of health and wellness issues.
  • Start and end personal training sessions on time and keep accurate logs of clients and their payments and attendance.
  • Must display a professional and an outgoing personality, enabling him/her to relate well with clients.
  • Know emergency policies and procedures and be able to communicate them to clients.
  • Return all training equipment to the proper storage or room location.
  • Participate in program promotions and special events, community and health expo’s.
  • Must support and exemplify the caring power philosophy and principles when in contact with members, participants and staff.
  • Keep current on all fitness trends through articles, workshops and seminars
  • Attend staff meetings

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must display an outgoing personality enabling him/her to relate well with members/participants.
  • Position requires a Certification with the one of the following organizations: ACE, NETA, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, NSCA, NCCPT), up to 2 years training experience and consistently training a minimum of 1 client week to max 5 clients per week.
  • Experience training from 1-2 years.
